Is this a scam? Paste a message, see the signs

Already replied, paid or shared something?
  • Gave your 12 or 24 words? Make a new wallet on a device you trust and move what is left now. The old words can never be made safe again.
  • Paid, or gave card or bank details? Call your bank or exchange right away, on the number printed on your card or shown in its app.
  • Installed AnyDesk or a similar app? Remove it, turn off the internet on that device and change your passwords from another one.
  • Report it. In Greece: Cyber Crime Division, phone 11188, email ccu@cybercrimeunit.gov.gr. Keep screenshots of everything.
  • Ignore offers to get your money back. Anyone who asks for a fee to recover it is the next scam.
How it works, and how well

It reads the message for 28 kinds of warning signs that real scams use, in English and Greek: requests for your recovery words or codes, fees to release your money, fake support, pressure, look-alike links and more. It runs in your browser, so the message never leaves your device.

We tested it on 100 messages it had never seen, half of them scams, with most of the genuine ones written to look like scams. It warned about 38 of the 50 scams, and wrongly warned about 6 of the 50 genuine messages.

It misses scams that show no warning signs yet, like a friendly first hello or a polite phone script. So a clean result never means safe.
